You DEFINITELY don't want the contacts wet or moist at all times (cleaning is one thing, and rubbing alcohol evaporates or dries quick, even if you don't rub a dry end of a Q-tip where you just rubbed with alcohol on the contacts), so dryness is not a bad thing (and I'm not sure why anyone would advise against dryness).Craftsman 16 gallon shop vac filter GIB cleaningtool Filter for Craftsman Shop Vac 17816 9-17816 Rep. You could also probably get an SNES cleaning kit and use the sticks with the pads with alcohol, since they're wider than Q-tips, but either way, Q-tips get the job done too, and yeah, it works fine. 91% is probably good or ok too, I just use 70% because it's the only stuff I buy (I use it for more purposes than just cleaning cartridge video games), and it was recommended to me by a friend I used to have - up until that point, I would use Q-tips and water to clean the games, but he told me he uses rubbing alcohol, even went as far as opening the cartridges and cleaning the entire board or something like that (or at the least, deeper than the slot inside of the cartridge where the board/contacts stick out). and I've never had any problems with the games when I do. I've been using the lower percentage rubbing alcohol (ah, 70%, I had to get up and go look at the bottle I keep in my gaming room) to clean my own NES, SNES, Genesis, and N64 games.
